The Fendrod Lake, Swansea Enterprise Zone. August 2001
If you go down the Enterprise Park today you will no longer find the hourdes of gypo's that were once more common than alcoholics in Hamburg Train Station. You won't find many bears either though.

The Zone has undergone a huge transformation in recent years and is now home to many large, internationally companies such as NTL, Rover, HSBC and Quick Sports aswell as the picturesque Fendrod Lake pictured below.

Of course this being Swansea you would expect the lake to be different in some way and you are of course right. It seems news of 'Dai the Dolphin's' Marina butterfly session of last month has travelled fast and Jacks from around the City are now getting in on the act.

A lunchtime walk around the Fendrod on Monday to take my mind of missing the predictable frustrating game between Swansea and Cheltenham produced some more proof that Swansea was the place where swimming was invented and that the only reason this fact isn't known worldwide is because when journalists come here to investigate they all have their cars done over and are unable to leave.

This is where the waterfall scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ws filmed..

These youths admirabley ignore both the 'no swimming' sign and the sewerage outlet to perfect the 'bomb' dive for use later in Cefn Hengoed pool.

This individually is obviously waiting for a salmon to come by so that he can tickle it for his tea.
